~ In-game description |
The Proto-Seeker is a type of hardware cube that has instant lock-on targeting, a medium range, a great sustainable rate of fire, medium damage, and bonus damage against shields.
Overview[]
The Proto-Seeker is best used as a secondary weapon for resetting the regeneration countdown of enemy robots, as well as finishing off microbots and speeders, and general suppression fire.
When compared with the mechanically similar LoMLs, the Proto-Seeker, while having lower damage, tends to be more reliable as a supportive, sustained-damage oriented weapon, as targets have no chance to evade its fast and guided projectiles, and only have the choice to hide, go out of range, or stay locked in what is probably an unfavorable engagement.
When compared with lasers, the Proto-Seeker is able to deliver somewhat more powerful, more accurate and more power-efficient continuous damage. But it comes with bigger, more vulnerable weapon hit box (somewhat balanced by bigger health), inability to target and shoot-off specific parts, range restrictions and bigger CPU cost.
