A Drone is an robot that uses thrusters to move. The main difference between drones, planes and copters is the drones use thrusters as MAIN way to get altitude while planes have wing lift and copters have rotor lift. Any craft that stays in the air without rotors, wings or thrusters is a blimp, if it uses mainly thrusters to lift it is a drone, if it can fly without a rotor but not without wings it is a plane. The differentiation is rather complicated due to the number of combinations

Drone Types[]

Due to typically tricky controls pure drones are usually rare and deviant robots, that can be distinguished by erratic, un-aerodynamic, hardly predictable movement, which is both -- a curse and a blessing, since opponents tend to be confused even more than drone pilot.

Rail Drone[]

The minimal rail drone is a deviant robot type commonly known as the Helium Chair, which consists of one railgun and a single armored helium cube. This makes them incredibly hard to spot, and very hard to hit. The main disadvantage of a rail drone is that rail is highly inaccurate when in midair, this was used time ago before the implementation of inaccuracy in mid-air.

More advanced version, that uses sky box for stabilization is called Stalker

Currently rail drones are mostly extinct, and their niche of being annoying, but not that much harmful is filled by monoseeker-minicopters.

Laser Drone[]

Usually it is fast interceptor or satellite.

Plasma Drone[]

Pretty much plasma bomber without wings.

Medic Drone[]

Medic drones require a significant level of mobility and maneuverability. Their typical play style is to get above targets and drop down like angels of mercy to heal their allies.

Sled[]

A sled is a drone that is designed to be piloted in contact with the ground. Though capable of flight, the ground is used to stabilize the robot and may have limited maneuverability (i.e. wildly uncontrollable) when airborne.

SMG Drone[]

Other[]

  • Tesseract
  • Thruster stick
  • Satellite Drones are uselessly consider ambush-ive by the forums due to lack of creativity and the impossibility to being hit or the impossibility to dodge one
