RC Base

A friendly base at the beginning of a round.

The Base is the heart of the capture the base mode, one of only four gamemodes currently available in Robocraft. It is distinguished by a giant transparent disc in the ground and a beam visible from both sides of the map. There is a base for the Blue Team (your team) and the Red Team (enemy team), each colored accordingly. Bases are different in the Battle Mode where they're called Protonium Reactors. They also have massively different mechanics.

Strategy[]

This applies to classic, Megaboss Battles, and challenge battles only.

Attacking

  • Always keep moving when you are capturing an enemy base so it is harder for your enemies to hit you.
  • Aircraft can use the alignment rectifyer to come to a complete stop on the base.

Defending

  • If both teams are base capping, one member can shoot the other team to deny them of the capture phase and possibly turn the tides of the battle.
  • Helicopters and sometimes hovers can pop up and shoot the enemy whenever they are about to capture the next phase.

Capturing[]

In order to capture the base, a robot from the Blue Team must be located on top the Red Team's base. This will fill up the red capture meter at the top right of the screen. Somewhat counter-intuitively, the meter will fill up with the opposite team's color, i.e. red. There are four capture segments. Once a segment is filled, it is locked and will not drain, which allowing for piecemeal capturing. Once all four are full, the round is won. There is an altitude limit on base capture, so aircraft need to land on or hover near the base disc.

The more robots from the Blue Team there are on the base, the faster the capture will proceed. If any robot from the Blue Team on the base takes damage from enemy fire, the current segment will drain instantly and have to be recaptured.

If there are no robots from the Blue Team on the base the current segment will drain slowly back to the last completed segment. This can happen if the Blue Team robots run away, get knocked off or slide off the base cap, or are destroyed.

If an enemy shoots and hits someone capturing their base, the segment they were capturing is brought back to 0%.

Each completed segment of the base capture awards Robopoints and Tech Points and are only earned by robots present on the base at the moment a capture segment is filled. Each segment provides its own bonus, allowing for four capture bonuses in total.

Capturing In Battle Mode[]

Destroy the Protonium Reactor by shooting its crystals until they are completely gone. This is also how you destroy Fusion Towers.
