 Alignment Rectifier
Type Special
Purpose Repositioning vehicle

The Alignment Rectifier was a special cube in Robocraft that allowed players to flip their own robots back up if they ended up upside down or stuck. The Alignment Rectifier had three Tiers, with each one having increased speed and blast power. However, it has been unimplemented from the game and replaced with the Alignment Rectifier v2.

NOTE: This cube isn't actually removed despite what people say. The T1 version was found in the CRF a long time ago but the bot is no longer on there so don't bother trying. It still works but can only be obtained when the game fails to remove it or through hacks. This is unimplemented.

Overview[]

The Alignment Rectifier was a bit peculiar in use: In order for it to be active, the robot had to be immobile. It would then charge - more quickly if the bot was flipped over- and allowed the player to use the F key to flip the robot over. The cube was almost useless in the earlier Tiers if it was placed on a robot more than 6 cubes wide, unless the bot had some sideways-pointing thrusters to help it. This is because it only flipped the robot into the air a certain distance, and if a robot is too wide it won't flip over. One way to combat this would be to hold down the F key while the Rectifier is charging up, which increased the strength of the blast.

If a bot had thrusters pointing downwards, activating them could greatly assist in righting a flipped bot if it were tilted or in the process of being flipped by a rectifier.

Robots that use hoverblades tend to slip downhill even when in contact with the ground, so rarely do they come to rest and become 'immobile'. This could make triggering rectifiers on hovercraft difficult.

Rectifiers of any given tier had a respectable amount of armor when compared to like-tiered armor blocks, and when compared to other special cubes had a very low CPU cost, meaning they could be used to strategically harden certain points on a bot, shielding more vital components.

Update notice[]

After the Megabots update on 18th February 2015 Alignment rectifiers were unimplemented from the game. The tech points and Robopoints spent on them were fully refunded and have been removed from the tech tree, your robots and your inventory. They have been replaced with the Alignment Rectifier v2, which is "pre-installed" into every pilot seat of every player in Robocraft.
